Music and Carriers

Hey all, Hope you are well!

Marcela, Maia and I are doing well, trying to get into a sleep schedule... 8-) Marcela and I aren't much for fixed schedules, so it's a little tough for us to get started on it and keep it up. But we know it'll give Maia a better chance to sleep more through the night.

We got our Baby Bjorn carrier working this past weekend, it's a fun little carrier. The first time Maia got in it, she fell right asleep on my chest... it was beautiful! Maia has taken to sleeping the best when touching or on one of us... on my chest, or draped over Marcela. It's really nice, but we know it's no way for her to sleep long term... it'd be a little rough on us!

Maia is also very soothed and affected by music... surprisingly so! We play classical a lot, but occasionally some salsa or (gasp!) even country... (not me!). It's nice to see her so interested... I wonder what that says about her interest/abilities in music as she grows up?

She's also started to smile more... mainly after a nice nap. It's so darling... she's really getting more expressive.

February update on Maia and all of us

Hola all, hope you are well! We have been super busy, as you could imagine! Maia is doing well and we are all getting used to each other.

Marcela's mother Noemi has been here for 3 months already! She's been an amazing help with everything, from a companion to Marcela when she wasn't feeling well, to staying up with Maia late nights... when Marcela was tooooo tired and I had to get up for work. What an amazing gift of herself she gave us! I'm also sure she really enjoyed the time with Marcela and her new little grand daughter! So it's a good deal on both sides. 8-)

So sadly, she's leaving tomorrow. She has other responsibilities and others to help in Buenos Aires... but we know that we'll all get together again soon.

I'm working on getting some additional pictures posted on our flickr account and here so you can see the cutie pie for yourself! She just started smiling at us this weekend! I picked her up and was talking to her... looking in her eyes. She just popped out a smile at me and I was so shocked and excited I yelled for Marcela to LOOK!!!! Of course that outburst actually scared Maia... so the smile was short lived... 8-)

Not to worry, she threw out a few more the last few days. I think we even caught a few on camera!
